Understanding MEPCO Tariff:

MEPCO, the Multan Electric Power Company, is responsible for supplying electricity to several regions in Pakistan. To make sure customers are billed accurately, MEPCO follows a specific tariff structure that determines how much you pay based on your electricity usage.

How to Use the MEPCO Bill Calculator:

Using our MEPCO WAPDA Bill Calculator is easy and straightforward. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Enter Your Electricity Units: In the input field provided, enter the total number of electricity units consumed during the billing period. This information can usually be found on your electricity bill or meter.
  • Step 2: Get Instant Calculation: Once you enter the units, our Bill Calculator will instantly calculate your electricity bill. You will see a breakdown of the different charges, including the cost of electricity, meter rent, surcharges, taxes, and more.

Understanding the Bill Breakdown:

To better understand the breakdown provided by our MEPCO Bill Calculator, let’s briefly explain each component:

  1. Cost of Electricity: This is the amount you are charged per unit of electricity consumed, as per the prevailing MEPCO tariff.
  2. Meter Rent: MEPCO charges a nominal meter rent for providing and maintaining the electricity meter at your premises.
  3. Surcharges: These are additional charges levied by the government or other regulatory bodies to cover various costs and taxes related to electricity distribution.
  4. Taxes: MEPCO bills include GST (Goods and Services Tax) and other applicable taxes imposed by the government.
  • Estimated Payable Within Due Date: This section shows the total amount you need to pay if you clear your bill before the due date. It includes the cost of electricity, meter rent, surcharges, taxes, and other applicable charges.
  • Estimated Payable After Due Date: If you fail to pay the bill within the due date, MEPCO adds a late payment surcharge to your bill. This section shows the total amount you need to pay after the due date, including the late payment surcharge.

These unit rates vary depending on the total number of units consumed, with rates per unit increasing as consumption rises. The tariff also varies based on the connection type/load, such as residential, commercial, industrial, and more. In this article, we’ll provide a comprehensive overview of the MEPCO tariff for all types of consumers.
